From Vision to Implementation: Structuring the EOREA CREP on Marine Robotics & New Sensors
The European Ocean Research and Education Alliance (EOREA) brings together leading European institutions to strengthen cooperation in ocean research, education and technological innovation. Within this framework, the Collaborative Research and Education Programme (CREP) on Marine Robotics & New Sensors has been developed through a progressive, community-driven process involving experts from EOREA member institutions and associated partners.
This lecture presents the main outcomes of this process and introduces the Technical Annex that consolidates the final scientific and organisational structure of the CREP. Particular attention will be given to the sub-programmes identified and refined over the past years by the coordinators of the different thematic areas, highlighting their scope, complementarities and contribution to a shared European research agenda in marine robotics.
The lecture will also outline the short- and long-term implementation roadmap of the CREP, from the activation of thematic working groups and joint research initiatives to the development of coordinated proposals, shared infrastructures, training activities and stronger links with European programmes and stakeholders. The aim is to show how the CREP can evolve from a networking framework into an operational platform for sustained collaboration, capable of connecting scientific excellence, technological development and education across the European marine robotics community.
