Biography
Massimo Caccia is Director of Research at the Institute of Marine Engineering of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR-INM), Genoa. He joined CNR in 1993 and has devoted his research to marine robotics, with particular focus on modelling and identification, navigation, guidance and control of unmanned marine vehicles, including cooperative systems. A pioneer in unmanned surface vehicles, he has coordinated and contributed to numerous national and European projects in marine robotics and autonomous systems and authored more than 200 scientific publications. Within EOREA, he coordinates for CNR the CREP on Marine Robotics & New Sensors, supporting the definition of its scientific priorities, sub-programmes and implementation roadmap.
