Biography
André Farinha is a PhD student at the aerial robotics laboratory, Imperial College London. He’s research focuses on remote sensing using UAVs with the capability of direct physical interaction. This is achieved with multi-modal robots with the capability to observe large areas from the sky and then perform direct measurements on the water surface. In the terrestrial environment, the same principles are used by deploying wireless sensor networks using UAVs. He graduated from Tecnico Lisbon MSc in 2016 and from the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics MRes in 2017.
