Slight changes have been made to the fieldwork part of the programme. This concerns the Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 and Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 schedules.
Also, the title of the short introductory talk by prof. Vukic has been changed in the Opening session on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011. |

An invitation-only VIP-Day event has been co-organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 after the end of the BtS2011 Technical Programme. We have dedicated a section of our web-site to this event, accessible by a link from the top-level horizontal menu. The programme for the event is forthcoming, pending clearance from the Protocol of the MoD. |

We have once again streamlined the Programme, as well as significantly improving the Organizers' section. Please keep updated on the Programme. Specifically, we have altered the time-slots for the fieldwork mission briefings, all of which are now scheduled on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in the afternoon session. We have also altered the time-slots for the fieldwork post-processing workshops, all of which are now scheduled on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, in the afternoon session. Also, notice that all activity leaders' and speakers' listings in the Programme have now been hot-linked to their online profiles.
We have also refurbished Travel Assistance & Trip Planning accessible from the right-hand-side main site navigation menu. |

All students and non-students are now invited to register at their EARLIEST CONVENIENCE in order to give us sufficient time to process the outgoing invoices. Bear in mind that:
- We need two to three working days after the receipt of the completed form to get back to a prospective participant with a processed outgoing invoice (we will email the invoice once it has been processed by our Accounting Dept.).
- The international money transfer is likely to take two or three banking days to process and for the paid sum to be visible in our accounts.

We are releasing the remaining participant places reserved for student applicants passing the vetting / applications process and making them GENERALLY AVAILABLE. Any student can now DIRECTLY REGISTER for participation / attendance at BtS2011 without the need to go through the student application step. Only a scanned/emailed or linked (if available through an online service or resource) proof of student status is required. An email of recommendation / notification / endorsement by any of the invited lecturers i.e. contributors to the BtS2011 programme, or any eligible senior staff of the following collaboration schemes can serve in stead of the proof of student status:
- International collaborators specified by the CURE project GA no. 229553,
- The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Croatia - University of Zadar, Croatia - Aurora Ocean Exploration and Education Trust, FL, USA tripartite collaboration agreement,
- The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Croatia - NATO Undersea Research Center collaboration agreement,
- The University of Zadar - Texas A&M University collaboration at the Gnalic shipwreck site.

We have made certain categories contained in our web-site easier to navigate by providing "browser-friendly links". Therefore, the programme is now available simply as http://bts.fer.hr/index.php/programme/ and the lecturers and contributors as http://bts.fer.hr/index.php/lecturers/.

The registration process for senior researchers / professionals / non-students is now open, and will remain so until Friday, August 19, 2011 (American date format: 8-19-2011, European date format: 19.8.2011.)
The non-student registration includes:
| (i) 7 days of stay at the hotel venue, Sunday, September 18, 2011 - Sunday, September 25, 2011 in a twin or double bedroom shared with an accompanying person or other non-student participant. All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) are included in the price. |
| (ii) Attendance at the technical programme, which includes 16 45-minute invited and plenary lectures, and three days of fieldwork exercises in the programme tracks of Marine Biology, Maritime Archaeology and Maritime Security. |
| (iii) Attendance at all social programme events, which includes .:a:. a welcome cocktail on Sunday, September 18, 2011 .:b:. a gala dinner (term TBD) .:c:. a full day excursion to a notable area of natural or cultural heritage (TBD), Sunday, September 25, 2011. |
The senior researcher / professional registration is €530.00 (five hundred thirty Euro and nil Euro cents) payable in Euro or USD (according to the European Central Bank Exchange rate listing for the day the order is placed with the home bank of the payee to effect the bank transfer of funds).

The application process for student applicants is now open, and will remain so until July 11, 2011 (American date format: 7-11-2011, European date format: 11.7.2011.) Immediately thereafter, on July 14, 2011 (American date format: 7-14-2011, European date format: 14.7.2011.) the letters of notification will be sent to all applicants, with further instructions on registering for the selected applicants.
The student registration for applicants vetted through the assessment process includes:
