Zoran Vukić
Biography
Zoran Vukić is a Full tenure Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Department of Control and Computer Engineering with more than 40 years of experience in education and research. He was Department Chair (1992 – 1996) and a member of the University of Zagreb Council (2011 – 2015). At present he is the Head of the Laboratory for Underwater Systems and Technologies (LABUST), Director of the Center for Underwater Systems and Technologies (CUST) NGO and co-founder of a spin-off company H2O Robotics. He specialized at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden and at the Vanderbilt University in Nashville, USA. He published four books, three book chapters and more than 200 papers (in journals and at conferences) as author or co-author. His research interest is application of control theory for marine vessels (surface and underwater), especially the area of cooperative navigation guidance and control, robust and adaptive control, nonlinear control, intelligent control, fault tolerant and reconfigurable control. He has led a number of research projects (national and international). At present he is involved as a researcher or team leader in 7 H2020 projects, one Interreg project, one NATO Science for Peace project, one ECHO project, one national project, one ONRG project, one bilateral project with China and one project between Ministry of Defense of Republic Croatia and Department of Defense of the USA. He is also a member of various professional societies such as: IEEE, IFAC TC on Marine Systems, Croatian Registry of Shipping etc.
