Breaking the Surface 2024 is taking place in Ilirija Resort hotels in Biograd na Moru, Croatia. The resort consists of three hotels (two at disposal for BTS participants) that are within one minute of walk from each other:

  • Hotel Adriatic – conference hall and accommodation for participants
  • Hotel Ilirija – conference restaurant and accommodation for participants
  • Hotel Kornati

Accommodation

Accommodation for 7 nights with full board (three meals per day) is NOT included in the registration price. All BTS guests will be situated in one of the Ilirija Resort hotels and need to book accommodation directly with the hotel.

How to reach us

We recommend that you fly to and from Zadar city due to its closer location to Biograd na Moru.

TRAVELLING BY PLANE VIA ZADAR AIRPORT

Taxi – taxies are parked in front of the airport. UBER ride is around 40 EUR.

Bus – the bus ticket price from the airport to the Zadar main station is 4.65 EUR one way and the bus departure time is dictated by plane arrivals. After you reach the main bus station in Zadar, please find the bus that goes to Biograd na Moru (main station). The ticket price is around 5 EUR and you can find the timetable here.

TRAVELLING BY PLANE VIA SPLIT AIRPORT

Taxi – taxies are parked in front of the airport. UBER ride is around 160 EUR.

Bus – the bus ticket price from the airport to the Split main station is around 4 EUR one way and the bus departure time is dictated by plane arrivals. After you reach the main station in Split please find the bus that goes to Biograd na Moru (main station). The ticket price is around 15 EUR and you can find the timetable here.

TRAVELLING BY CAR – free parking spaces for BTS participants will be provided. At the airport you can rent cars on the spot.

TRAVELLING BY BUS – Ilirija resort is at a 4-minute walking distance from the main station (map) in Biograd na Moru.

VISA

A valid passport is required. Visas are not necessary for citizens of the EU, the USA, Canada and many other countries. Visa requirements are given here. 

As a participant with paid registration, an official letter-of-confirmation that confirms that you will attend BTS2022 will be sent to those that need it to obtain the Croatian visa. This letter does not guarantee that you will receive a visa. It is recommended that you start this process as soon as possible!
