Biography

Charalampos Yakinthos is an electrical and computer engineer and academic based in Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), where he conducted his doctoral research at the High Voltage Laboratory, as well as a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same university. Since 2020, he has served as Head of the School of Engineering at the Merchant Marine Academy of Macedonia, following three years as Deputy Head. Earlier in his career, from 1998 to 2009, he worked at HELETEL as a project manager on EU-funded research and development projects in areas including energy, e-commerce, electronic data interchange, intranets, and networks. His research and publications cover high-voltage engineering, electrical installations and photovoltaic systems, energy markets, electricity pricing, and sustainable energy systems. He is also co-author of the textbook Computer Science for Merchant Marine Officers, published by the Eugenides Foundation, and has served as a scientific expert for the French National Research Agency (Agence Nationale de la Recherche – ANR). He is a native Greek speaker, is proficient in English, and has working knowledge of German.
