Biography

Marsela Polić graduated from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER) in 2016 and joined LARICS in the same year. During her education, she received two “Josip Lončar” awards, Ministry of Science and Education, City of Zagreb, and Erasmus+ scholarships due to academic success. Her research interests include soft robotics manipulation, primarily application of artificial intelligence techniques in tactile sensing and compliant control. As a Ph.D. student, she participated in the ASSISIbf (Animal and robot Societies Self-organise and Integrate by Social Interaction – bees and fish) FP7 project and in the Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge as part of the LARICS team. In 2019 she was awarded the British Scholarship Trust grant for a research visit to the Bristol Robotics Lab. She spent two months as a visiting Ph.D. student in the Tactile robotics group. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. as part of the project Specularia, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ).
